Nouveau Riche
Nouveau Riche is originated from French, it means New Rich or New Money, refers to a person who has acquired considerable wealth within his or her generation. This term is generally to emphasize that the individual was previously part of a lower socioeconomic rank, and that such wealth has provided the means for the acquisition of goods or luxuries that were previously unobtainable.
I can tell you a true story of a Nouveau Riche from my own home town, he still a relative of mine and his name is Basrizal Koto, born in a small village in West Sumatera, Indonesia. His family is truly part of a lower socioeconomic rank, his parent is only can effort to finance him for elementary school. His first entrepreneur job is to become a tailor, he thought that it isn’t enough to finance the whole family, than he moved to a town next the current province.
He started new business in automotive, he applied for small business loan for his new business, this path bring him to Nouveau Riche like he is now. He owns several companies like, News Paper Company, property business, super mall and many more. Something that we can learn from him is the brilliant ideas, his character and his generosity.
